Abstract: More and more new demands and expectations created put organizations under pressure to innovate. Innovation is defined as organizations’ ability to learn from challenges or opportunities and apply it to the operating process. Creating, capturing, harvesting, sharing and implementing professional knowledge are required to innovate successfully. Organizational culture is admitted as a core element to decide ability and level of success of innovation adoption. This article mentions the literature of organizational culture, innovation, a relationship between an organization’s culture and its innovation capability as well as the board of management’s awareness of Vietnam businesses on building organizational culture - the glue that supports the innovation process for businesses.
