The Impact of Traceability and Information Sharing on the Digital Transformation of Logistics: A Study with Vietnamese Textile and Garment Industry

Abstract

The requirement for strong supply networks grows as the world’s textile industry expands. Digital transformation is a key driver of the industry’s progress in the era of Industry 4.0. With an emphasis on information sharing and traceability functions, this study investigates how digital transformation a ects the performance of sustainable supply chains. Using a quantitative methodology, a thorough survey was conducted among mid- and senior-level managers in Vietnamese textile companies. 200 valid replies were analyzed using the software programs Amos 24 and SPSS 27. The results show that by enhancing information sharing and traceability, digital transformation dramatically improves the performance of sustainable supply chains. Speci cally, traceability plays an important mediating role, enhancing the advantages of digital transformation and streamlining supply chain processes. While information sharing alone has little impact on sustainable performance, it has a signi cant impact when integrated with traceability. This study strongly emphasizes integrating cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and IoT to overcome coordination issues and technological limitations. Future studies should consider geographical variations and incorporate raw material providers to present a more comprehensive picture of supply chain management. This study’s advancement of theoretical and practical understanding supports the sector’s shift to sustainable and e ective supply chain procedures.
