The article analyses the source and content of Nguyen Du’ thought: “happiness comes after suffering” in his book “The Tale of Kieu” and its application by Ho Chi Minh, who developed it into a scientific and revolutionary philosophy. This philosophy provides justification for his firm belief in the ultimate victory of the struggle for national independence and for his optimistic attitude towards the brilliant future of the country. It has been practically justified by the complete victory of the struggle for national liberation and by the achievements in 50 years of defense, reconstruction, innovation and development of the country. It has also been applied successfully in our Party and Government’s foreign policy of converting enemy into friend and international integration.vi_VN
